Supporting local businesses where possible by using their produce is something we are proud of.

Do you know why we are called Nelly’s Yard?

Nelly Copson was a local historian who was born in 1919 in the first floor back room of our Café. She lived all of her life here, until she died in 2011 aged 92.

Nelly became the oldest woman to be sent to a British jail in 2000 at the age of 81. She served two days, for refusing to pay business rates on the empty shop where her father had worked as a cobbler.

We have got a plaque inside & out to honour her.

A little bit more about us..

We have a dedicated play area where children can safely play. It is guaranteed to keep them occupied from dressing up in our many costumes to role play in our kitchen. Giving you enough time to enjoy one of our delicious locally roasted coffees or loose leaf teas.
