Avoncroft Museum of Historic Buildings
Stoke Heath
Bromsgrove
Worcestershire
B60 4JR
It is England’s first open-air museum and has a collection of 30 rescued buildings and structures in beautiful 19 acre grounds.
All the exhibits have been rescued from demolition or dereliction and carefully rebuilt at Avoncroft. These include a windmill, a medieval town house, a fully-furnished 1940s prefab and a corrugated iron Victorian church. There are also buildings commemorating the area’s industrial heritage and our 100 year forge and 19th century chain-making shop are still used for training courses and demonstrations today. The Museum is also home to the National Telephone Kiosk Collection and a traditional cider and perry orchard.
Avoncroft Museum was awarded Destination Worcestershire’s “Best Tourism Experience” in 2014 and holds TripAdvisor “Certificates of Excellence” for 2013 and 2014.
We have a lively programme of events, including traditional rural celebrations, family fun days and historical re-enactments. There is a large, free car park, an award-winning Tea Room for drinks, light lunches and delicious afternoon teas and a Museum Shop with a great range of gifts, books, cards and souvenirs.
